ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Yasmeen!
I am a Pakistani-Indian-American actress, singer, and writer based in Los Angeles.
I was born and raised in sunny Orange County, California. My childhood was filled with music, from my grandmother singing me lullabies in Urdu to watching Bollywood movies with my dad. It was then that my love for singing and acting began.
I attended the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) where I was a part of the Musical Theatre Conservatory. There I was able to hone my skills in singing, acting, and dancing, while performing under the direction of accomplished industry professionals like Susan Egan and Karen Culliver.
I continued my theatre training at the University of Southern California (USC), where I earned a BA in Theatre with an Acting emphasis from the School of Dramatic Arts, as well as a BA in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Human Rights.
At USC, I delved into scene study with seasoned industry professionals, such as Kate Burton, John DeMita, and Dan Shaner, and performed in several mainstage productions. I spent a semester training at the British American Drama Academy (BADA) in London where I studied High Comedy and Shakespeare in a high-intensity, conservatory-style classical acting program.
During college, I discovered my love for comedy and found my comedic voice. One day, I would love to star in a sitcom.
I also discovered a passion for screenwriting while taking classes at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. I am eager to write unique, funny, and fully realized South Asian characters that don’t rely on stereotypes.
At the end of the day, I want to make people laugh. To make people’s lives a little bit lighter and a little bit easier. I want to bring a little more joy into this world, whether it be through acting, singing, or writing.
